Anxiety

Welcome to Anxiety, a dark urban-fantasy roleplaying game. Anxiety is intended for slow play. We recommend playing each session as a single day, starting either where you left off or after walking up, and ending when you go to sleep. Not every day needs to be filled with combat or intense action, a slowly burning suspense, or comfortably paced intrigue, should work at least as well, if not better. 

We encourage players to play for the long-term - to set up characters with life goals and human flaws. We also encourage GMs to set up games with slower plots, or games that may be taken at whatever pace the players set. Some examples of such game settings include: a local community plagued by cryptid encounters, a UFO sighting conspiracy, a vampire or werewolf on the loose, a cryptid tracking team looking for sensational stories, or a murder investigation. 

Anxiety is designed specifically to facilitate games like these: we've intended our mechanics to fit into the horror/thriller genre from the beginning. Your characters may still be heroic - better than the average human - but you are mortal. We hope you enjoy your time with Anxiety.
